چکیده

The goal of this study was to identify potential quantitative trait loci (QTL) for 27 production, fitness, and conformation traits Guernsey cattle through genome-wide association (GWA) analyses, with extra emphasis on BTA19, where major QTL were observed several traits. Animals' de-regressed predicted transmitting abilities (PTA) from the December 2018 traditional US evaluation used as phenotypes. All included in analyses predictor animals reference population, ranging 1,077 1,685 different Single-trait GWA carried out by a mixed-model approach all using imputed high-density genotypes. Quantitative trait locus-by-environment interaction for milk yield traits on Bos taurus autosome 6.

Genotype-by-environment interactions for production traits in dairy cattle have often been observed, while QTL analyses have focused on detecting genes with general effects on production traits. In this study, a QTL search for genes with environmental interaction for the traits milk yield, protein yield, and fat yield were performed on Bos taurus autosome 6 (BTA6), also including information ab...

Quantitative Trait Loci Affecting Milk Production Traits on BTA 14 in Iranian Holstein Dairy Cattle: A Confirmation

The aim of this study was to refine the position of previously detected quantitative trait loci (QTL) on bovine chromosome 14 affecting milk production traits, using both linkage analysis (LA) and combined disequilibrium and linkage analysis (LDLA) methods, in Iranian Holstein dairy cattle. Analysis data was LRT (likelihood ratio test) and computed using the DMU (estimate the (co)variance compo...

Estimation of quantitative trait loci parameters for milk production traits in German Holstein dairy cattle population.

The main objective of this study was to estimate the proportion of total genetic variance attributed to a quantitative trait locus (QTL) on Bos taurus autosome 6 (BTA6) for milk production traits in the German Holstein dairy cattle population. The analyzed chromosomal region on BTA6 spanned approximately 70 cM, and contained 6 microsatellite markers. Milk production data were obtained from rout...

Quantitative trait loci affecting milk production traits in Finnish Ayrshire dairy cattle.

A whole genome scan of Finnish Ayrshire was conducted to map quantitative trait loci (QTL) affecting milk production. The analysis included 12 half-sib families containing a total of 494 bulls in a granddaughter design. The families were genotyped with 150 markers to construct a 2764 cM (Haldane) male linkage map. In this study interval mapping with multiple-marker regression approach was exten...

Whole genome scan to detect quantitative trait loci for conformation and functional traits in dairy cattle.

A granddaughter design was used to locate quantitative trait loci determining conformation and functional traits in dairy cattle. In this granddaughter design, consisting of 20 Holstein Friesian grandsires and 833 sons, genotypes were determined for 277 microsatellite markers covering the whole genome. Breeding values for 27 traits, regarding conformation (18), fertility (2), birth (4), workabi...
